We Love Corvettes

I just bought a 1976 corvette stingray with ALL matching numbers. The problem is that someone told me the fastback sloped rear window didn't come back until 1978 but that is exactly what I have. I also read corvette history and it confirms that 1978 was the first year they brought back the fast back sloped window! I don't get it. And it is pretty obvious that the car has never been hit or a new back half was ever attached to it from a different year. Does anyone know the real deal with this car? All numbers on the car say that it is a "76" and it also has the glass t-tops which I don't think were an option in 76...Please help.
